Further Update – Academy Closure on Friday 26th June 2026

See attached below a letter that went out to parents on Thursday 25th June 2026 regarding this weeks school closure following the Red Weather warning.
Over the past two days, we have continued to monitor the weather forecast, public transport information and conditions within the academy building. Having carefully reviewed all of the available information, the decision has been made, in conjunction with the Trust, that BOA Digital Technologies Academy will remain closed on Friday 26th June 2026.
Although temperatures are forecast to be slightly lower than those experienced over the past two days, they are still expected to reach around 32°C in Birmingham, with an ongoing risk of heat-related illness. Overnight temperatures have also remained exceptionally high, preventing the academy building from cooling sufficiently. As a result, internal
temperatures remain uncomfortably high and are not conducive to providing a safe, healthy and effective learning environment for either students or staff.
In addition, we have continued to review public transport information. Many of our students travel considerable distances to attend the academy and rely on rail and bus services. Ongoing disruption, together with the continued risk of delays associated with the extreme weather, means that many students would still be required to undertake lengthy journeys in challenging conditions.
