Curriculum Statement

At BOA Digital Technologies Academy, our curriculum is deliberately designed to provide a rigorous academic foundation alongside a distinctive specialism in digital technologies, preparing students for success in post-16 education, employment, and the rapidly evolving digital world.

Our pathways combine GCSE and vocational qualifications to ensure every student develops both deep academic knowledge and practical, industry-relevant skills that support their individual aspirations and future career pathways.

We recognise that selecting subjects at Key Stage 4 is an important and sometimes complex decision. Students and families are supported throughout this process by tutors, subject specialists, and senior leaders, ensuring that each student makes informed choices that reflect their strengths, interests, and ambitions. Our aim is to provide a personalised pathway that enables students to thrive academically, creatively, and professionally.

All students study a broad and balanced core curriculum, including GCSE English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, and Combined Science, alongside PSHE and Core Physical Education. In keeping with our identity as a digital specialist academy, every student also undertakes two digital qualifications: a digital technical course and a digital design course, ensuring they develop the technical fluency, creativity, and problem-solving skills required in modern digital industries.
