POST TITLE: Senior Science Technician at BOA Digital Technologies Academy

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head of Science

SALARY: SCP 9 to 14 (£26,409 to £28,624 FTE, prorated to £22,994 to £24,923)

WORKING PATERNS: Full Time (37.5 hours per week), term time only (with potential for 10 additional days per year – subject to negotiation)

CLOSING DATE: Friday 6 December

The BOA Group are seeking to appoint a motivated, dedicated and aspirational Senior Science Technician to join the team at BOA Digital Technologies Academy, supporting the Head of Science and the wider Science department.

Currently comprising of three academies – ‘BOA Creative, Digital and Performing Arts’ (opened in 2011), ‘BOA Stage and Screen Production Academy’ (opened in 2021) and ‘BOA Digital Technologies’ (opened in September 2022) – located in the centre of Birmingham and within the hub of the creative and digital industries in the West Midlands, we benefit from superb facilities for academic, vocational and extra-curricular activities.

THE ROLE:

BOA Digital is seeking to appoint a Senior Science Technician, working alongside the wider staff and leaders to provide excellence across the school. The role will be primarily based at BOA Digital Technologies Academy with occasional travel to other BOA Group locations across central Birmingham as required.

The postholder will provide technical support for the delivery of the science curriculum and whole school and departmental initiatives, through the preparation and maintenance of teaching areas and equipment for pupils. Importantly, the postholder will also assist in providing a safe working environment for pupils/students and other colleagues.
